Review 02 - Toyota Yaris...Symbol of beauty and elegance

The new boy in town will hit the Indian roads soon. Yes, it’s true Toyota Kirloskar is all set to launch Toyota Yaris in their portfolio for Indian market by May 2018.

I have always been a fan of Toyota cars because of their executive and premium build and the engine on the cars is most reliable. I am sure Toyota must have learnt from the mistakes they did with Etios. This car has not only been styled from outside but also from inside.

Under the hood, Yaris is expected to be powered with 1.5 liter dual VVT-I petrol engine with 6 speed manual gear box or 7 speed automatic option. There are speculations that the car will have a diesel engine borrowed from Corolla or Etios. The fuel economy will be around 10-11 kmpl.

Yaris is based on a new design language of its sibling Corolla. There is lot of chrome element used in the front. Rear could also get some chrome garnishing around the boot lid. It features projector headlamps, L-shaped fog lamp, sleek wing mirrors with turns indicators, 15-inch alloy wheels, wraparound tail lamps. The boot space of the car is massive. So, if you are someone who travels with lots of luggage, please have a look at his car.

The interiors of the Yaris are up market and stylish. Such cars are mostly chauffeur driven so the back seat of the car is spot on along with lots of leg room. For the first time in India, C+ segment car will have roof top ac vents for rear passengers (similar to Toyota Innova). There is a touch screen along with steering mounted control. The top end will come with 7 air bags and 4 disk brakes so be rest assured there has been no compromise on safety as always from Toyota.

To conclude, if you are bored with the Honda City, Maruti Ciaz, Hyundai Verna and looking for a better and reliable alternative Yaris is to watch out for. The car will be aggressively priced between INR 8 to 12 lakh and it will definitely give its competitors a run for their money.
